At almost 60 years old, RUI is still young, dynamic and modern, and an authentic place of university culture open to the city.
Founded in 1959 by professionals from the academic, institutional and industrial worlds, RUI was inspired by St. Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei, with the aim of being a place for training, studying and discussions, capable of accommodating university students from all over the world.
RUI opened on April 24th, 1960 and is the first one of the halls of residences managed by Rui Foundation. The Italian acronym “R.U.I.” means “International University Residence(s)”.
